  Private spaces
Bed room

Bedroom The bedroom is your private refuge. So go ahead and indulge in your private design fantasies. Don’t limit yourself to the usual bed, side table and bureau. Add something unexpected, like a chaise, antique desk or dressing table. Bedroom lighting should be flattering. A simple incandescent (standard light bulb) lamp with a crisp fabric shade delivers a pleasing glow. Carpets and rugs are ideal in the bedroom. They insulate against the cold and add a special coziness.

Bathroom

Bathroom The rule on decorating the bathroom is very simple: keep it clean and fresh. Make sure your bathroom is spotless. A healthy green plant adds color to a plain white tiled bath. Save your seashells from the summer and put them on the windowsill to create a breezy effect. For subtle elegance, light votive candles on the vanity or by the tub.

Home office

Home office Whether you have a full room or a tabletop to devote to work at home, the right tools will help you make the most of it. Today, there are many choices, from desks with built-in file cabinets to office armoires that let you conceal your “mess.” Whichever you choose, be sure it’s designed with the proper ventilation and wiring management system.
